| The American Petroleum Institute created the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Certification Program to let customers know when they’re buying high-quality DEF that has met diesel engine manufacturer requirements. This voluntary program monitors and measures the quality of DEF products, allowing suppliers whose DEF has met the program’s specifications to display the API Diesel Exhaust Fluid Certification mark. The bottom line: If you see the mark, you’re buying high-quality DEF. Fleets operating in extreme climates or with outside storage systems may have to factor temperature into their storage. DEF freezes at 12 degrees Fahrenheit, but no quality issues result from thawing. If exposed to high temperatures around the clock for several months, however, the product may degrade. Airgas is fully committed to the API DEF Certification Program, and we proudly feature its mark on our website and products to let customers know they’re getting a great product. |
